Security Committee:
The core function of the security committee is to develop a comprehensive community policing strategy that promotes organizational strategies, which support the systematic use of partnerships and problem-solving techniques, to proactively address the immediate conditions that give rise to public safety i.e. crime, social disorder, and fear of crime.
The committee also develop a detailed resource mobilization strategy to put up a police post in the area This will entail building partnership with the relevant department of Government, private sector, civil society and the residence.

Nyumba Kumi initiatives
In order to confirm with the Nyumba Kumi strategy on community security Varsityville estate is subdivided into nine (9) clusters, with each cluster representing specified geographical lotion within the estate. each cluster is headed by a cluster and among other things they are responsible for coordination of the security.
Further down the cluster is subdivided in to courts, the courts represent each independent acre with about ten (10) households in each court. The court elder oversees the activities of the court in close consultation with the cluster heads. Several courts makes a Cluster
Varsityville Police Post
VVRA Allocated one of Her public plots to the national police service for the purpose of constructing a modern police station within the estate. The process was completed through effort of many individuals and government agencies and a title deed issued to the OCDP Ruiru under the National Police Service
VVRA designed a model police station to be constructed and its currently developing a detailed resource mobilization strategy to put up a police post in partnership with relevant Government Ministries in the area This will entail building partnership with the relevant department of Government, private sector, civil Association and the Residents’.
Gated Community
One of the major Achievement is gating the estate, although with a bit of challenges VVRA managed to block all unofficial entries to and from the estate and provided only three main entries namely Mtunishi gate near the police post, the School Road near delta Petrol Station gate and the Church Road Gate.
The three gates are managed 24/7 by guards and recently IP CCTV cameras were mounted on the main gates and monitored by specific members of the Governing council.
